PETER TROUTNERPeter serves as the Creative Director for Marion Design Co.
I’m a young creative with a passion for helping others to see the value community offers. When I’m not at work either at IWU National and Global, Marion Design Co, or freelancing you’ll often find me out and about my small city of Marion, Indiana. I enjoy taking long walks through the historic downtown while thinking and admiring the beauty around me. Ask me about an idea I’ve been thinking about recently and you’ll get a wide range of answers from “Why do TV shows think they can print full bleed from an office printer?” to “Can preservation also be destruction if the object no longer does what it was intended to do when being preserved?” I’ve taken up the practice of journaling the thoughts I have and the moments that bring me joy throughout the day (like the laughter that swells from the interruption of a quiet morning by a leaf blower barely holding on to life or the arch of a basketball as it makes its way into the frame of my window only to descend again presumably making a basket in the park behind my house.) In the process of journaling these moments I have found my creative juices flowing more freely. I’ve rediscovered a love of writing through my journals and enjoy putting my copywriting skills to use when working with clients. I value research in my design process and authenticity in communication. You can bet there’s two or three layers of meaning in my work, because I want it to stand up for itself and help whatever organization it is for take flight. I get my energy from spending time with friends, being part of something larger than myself, and most days a warm cup of tea. |
