Fusion Arts Alliance is excited to announce the return of Congruence Arts and Music Festival this September in downtown Marion, 5 to 9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 15. Headlining will be Woah, Man!, a group that celebrates the iconic women of rock who have influenced generations of music lovers and musicians alike! Starting at 7:30 p.m. they’ll bring hits from the most influential fem rockers of the last six decades, including Pat Benatar, Heart, Carole King, the Supremes, Joan Jett, Stevie Nicks, Tina Turner and more! Here's about our artist: "Mrs. Kate" Carpenter of Marion, IN travels worldwide making families smile with her homespun folk music. Accompanying herself on the guitar, this prolific songwriter has recorded 12 original CD's and several children's music videos in the past 30 years. She performs over 200 shows a year, delighting audiences of all ages. Mrs. Kate’s specialty is electrifying preschool and elementary school children. Using catchy tunes, puppetry, unusual instruments, and riveting storytelling, her interaction with the audience is creative and unforgettable. She has inspired students in over 448 schools with her "Motivate with Mrs. Kate" show. Summers find her touring the public library circuit, promoting reading with her "Crack a Book" song and the unforgettable "Hug-a-Bug-a-Boo." Mrs. Kate also loves singing for senior citizens, delighting audiences with her original programs in over 215 communities throughout the United States. He brought over 70 in attendance, including 4 dogs. Robbie Rittman is a singer/songwriter from Marion, IN. He grew up doing musicals, plays, sketch comedy, show choir, and more. Robbie attended Indiana University and studied vocal jazz and filmmaking. He wrote his first song at the age of 23 when his father passed away. The song is called “My Little Man,” and it can be found on Spotify. Since 2018 he has been living in Los Angeles pursuing music. We are thankful for Robbie, and his friends that brought such a huge crowd! Sounds of Summer will return July 5 with Keith Rae at Playacres Park in Fairmount. The Fusion Arts Alliance Staff got the opportunity to help as part of the Front of House staff for Hoosier Shakespeare Festival performance of “The Tempest.”
